The above picture on the right was created before AI had made it so easy to make whatever images you would like. Now-a-days I wouldn't even need a starting picture like on the left!

A few years back I was in Yellowstone with my family on vacation. We had been driving around for most of the morning and hadn't seen any Bison yet. I was a little bummed and so when we saw a bison up the hill from the road, I parked the car in a little pull off area and walked just a little ways up the hill to get a picture. As I was taking the picture a woman, who had pulled up next to my car, said, "Sir? Sir?"

I wasn't too close to the bison, I don't think, but I thought, uh oh, now I'm going to hear from her. I walked down to my car and she waved me over. I went over to her car window and she said in an intense way, "I can see you are passionate about the bison."

I wasn't sure exactly what that meant and I can't remember exactly how I replied, except for that I was interested in seeing more of them. She then went on to tell me where to go to see big herds of them (in the Lamar valley). I thanked her and we went on our way.

We didn't end up going to the Lamar valley, it was pretty far away, but we did end up seeing plenty more bison that day and the next. I told my family about what the woman had said and ever since then I have been the passionate bison man of the family.

I get pictures sent to me all the time of bison. I've also created t-shirt and sticker designs of fluffy cows: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/63212854. And my daughter designed a "Bison Enthusiast" shirt for me: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/141050824
